In diabetic retinopathy with angiogenesis, the laser is irradiated on all parts of the retina except the macula. This laser therapy prevents the development of angiogenesis in the retina. It also prevents vitreous bleeding and retinal disorders that may occur in the future. Of course, laser therapy may be performed several times. The important point is that laser surgery usually does not improve the vision of a diabetic patient, but only prevents blindness in the future. Of course, in cases such as vitreous bleeding, reducing the bleeding can improve the patient's vision.
